Notre verdict

The Dowinx MB30 is a well-conceived entry-level racing gaming chair: at €119.99, it offers a USB massaging lumbar cushion, a footrest, a wide seat and a steel frame rated up to 136 kg. A first gaming seat with a strong features-to-price ratio, with the finish trade-offs you'd expect at this price.

Dowinx MB30 Advance Review — the entry-level racing gaming chair

In short: Dowinx MB30 Advance PU leather (7.8/10, €119.99). A surprisingly well-equipped entry-level racing gaming chair: a USB massaging lumbar cushion, a retractable footrest, a wide seat and a steel frame with a class 4 gas lift rated up to 136 kg. At this price, it targets the first gaming seat, with the finish trade-offs that implies.

Under €120, the gaming-seat market is a minefield: plenty of sloppy models, a few pleasant surprises. On paper, the MB30 sits in the latter camp, with a solid spec sheet. We put it in context within our roundup of the best gaming chairs for the office.

Our evaluation method

This review is based on the manufacturer's specifications, the official product visuals, an analysis of the stated materials and our benchmarking against the entry- and mid-range gaming chairs we've had hands-on (Corsair TC100, with the Secretlab Titan Evo as a higher-end reference). It will be completed after extended hands-on use. The score reflects the features-to-price ratio in the under-€150 bracket.

Design and materials

The MB30 is a classic racing chair: a winged bucket backrest, contrasting stitching, a headrest and lumbar cushion matching the seat's colors. The white and black finish in the visuals is clean, with the Dowinx logo as a crest. The upholstery pairs PU leather with a soft fabric finish — durable and easy to maintain, but not very breathable: over long summer sessions, heat builds up, the usual faux-leather trade-off.

The structure inspires confidence for the price: a steel frame and a class 4 gas lift rated up to 136 kg (300 lbs), above many direct competitors capped at 120-130 kg.

Ergonomics and adjustments

  • USB-powered massaging lumbar cushion: a gentle vibration in the small of your back. Pleasant as an extra, but to be treated as a gimmicky bonus rather than true adjustable ergonomic support.
  • Recline from 90° to 145° with tilt control, to alternate between work and breaks.
  • Wide 21.3-inch (~54 cm) seat: room to shift position, welcome on long sessions.
  • Built-in retractable footrest — see the value of a footrest at your desk.
  • Padded armrests attached to the backrest: comfortable but without 4D adjustment.

The support is that of a good entry-level bucket: fine for 4-6 hours, without the precision of dynamic lumbar support or the long-duration comfort of ergonomic mesh.

Who is it for?

  • A first gaming seat on a tight budget (under €130)
  • Builds up to 136 kg, thanks to the steel frame
  • Mixed sessions of gaming / work with breaks
  • Those who want maximum features (footrest, massage, wide seat) at the lowest price

Less suitable if…

  • You're after breathability: prefer mesh — see our ergonomic chairs under €300
  • You want 4D armrests and adjustable lumbar support
  • You work 8 hours a day or more: step up a tier (Secretlab Titan Evo, an ergonomic seat)

Verdict

At €119.99, the Dowinx MB30 is one of the best features-to-price ratios in its category: few chairs under €130 combine a footrest, USB lumbar massage, a wide seat and a 136 kg steel frame. It's not a premium ergonomic seat — entry-level finish, not-very-breathable PU leather, basic adjustments — but as a first gaming seat, it ticks a lot of boxes.

FAQ

Is the USB massage function actually useful?

It's a USB-powered vibrating lumbar cushion: pleasant as an extra during a break, but it doesn't replace adjustable lumbar support. Treat it as a bonus, not a decisive ergonomic argument.

What's the maximum weight the MB30 supports?

136 kg (300 lbs) thanks to its steel frame and class 4 gas lift, a level above many direct competitors at this price.

Is the MB30 a good office chair for remote work?

As a first seat for mixed work with breaks, yes. For long daily days, a breathable ergonomic seat will offer better support over time. See our ergonomic vs gaming chair guide.
